canon digital camera 5d price image

It's an odd story, but long story short ... my digital camera has been emerged in engine oil (clean).
What is the best way for me to get all the oil off and clean it? This would include the LCD display screen, the lens, etc... I have already wiped it down with paper towels, but there is still an oily microfilm coating it.
I will appreciate any advice and suggestion, thanks in advance!

Jeff, your camera is likely ruined. I'd say there is a 99% chance that the oil seeped inside the camera so your only option would be sending it off for an internal as well as external cleaning and unless your camera is a Nikon D3 or D700 or Canon 1Ds Mark III or 5D Mark II or Sony A900 (cameras priced from $3,000.00 to $8,000.00 for just the body) it will be cheaper to just buy a new camera.
I believe you meant to say your camera was immersed in oil. It emerged from the oil when you removed it.

My boyfriend REALLY wants a Canon 5d, and I would like to buy him one. I don't have the cash or credit to get one at Best Buy, so I was wondering any suggestions on getting one used that would still have the quality of a new one. Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

You don't need to buy a used one to afford it. Buy a new one for the price of a used camera. Here are the online stores I know that sell digital cameras for a very low price compared to Best Buy, Circuit City, Radio Shack, etc. etc.
