What is your opinion on Canon digital cameras?

I bought a Canon digital camera 4 years ago and it broke down 1 month ago. to repair it will cost me $200. is it normal?

Canon is a good company, but nothing lasts forever, you have to realize it. If you cherish your camera you can repair it but better get another one, I would advise another Canon as you already have the software and the gadget for it.

What's the difference between canon ELPH digital cameras and canon A-Series digital cameras?

Do the canon digital cameras do a beauty shot (make your face look flawless and pretty) type thing like the samsung cameras do?

1) ELPH designated cameras are sold in the UK and Europe
2) Each camera company has some unique features. Eventually if they become popular, they show up on other brands. Remember when "smile and face recognition" was only available on Sony products?
