I just got a new macbook and i want to upload pictures onto it from my Canon powershot SD450 digital elph. I installed the CD and The Camera Window and Image Browser appeared in the dock. When i plug my camera in, it says that no device is plugged in..
what do i do?

Don't bother with cables or special software!
The easiest and best method to download photos and video from your camera to your computer is via a little USB card reader (which are quite cheap these days).
Card readers also work for moving photos from the computer onto a card.
Plug the reader into a USB port and insert the memory card.
It will show up as a drive, and you can simply drag and drop the photos across to the folder of your choice.

What is the best recording equipment for posting tutorials on youtube?

Hello I am an inspiring make up artist. I am so eager to start posting tutorials on my YouTube page. Sadly all i have is an webcam to record. It is an HD webcam with 720p but I am unsure if that's good enough. What are some better equipment i can use? Please be specific with your answers. Simply saying a digital camera or camcorder does not help me. Thanks in advance!

I think 720p should be fine but if you'd like to upgrade to 1080p i'd find myself a better camera preferably canon or nikon, they are some of the top brands in cameras. something like this:

I don't know if it's in you're budget range but that would make a good video recording device. Also what you can do is record video voice overs. I've seen it in a lot of youtube tutorials and they make it more professional. You can use a Blue Snowball Microphone. It's a USB microphone so it's simple to use and a great quality microphone for video tutorials/pod casts etc...
