What is the best digital camera i can get for under $400? i need something that can take good quality pictures because i am going to be using for photography. i want something that has more than 8 megapixels and can focus well. i don't want to spend more than $400 right now, but if you have any recommendations that are a little more than that let me know. i am just looking for a good camera.

In that price range the following apply:

Compact I would choose: Canon Powershot SD850, Nikon Coolpix s600, Olympus stylus 1030sw and Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FX35

For SLR like cameras:
Canon Powershot S5 IS, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18K, Nikon Coolpix p80

For reviews check out http://dpreview.com or http://www.imaging-resource.com/

These are in order of preference, but all good cameras in that range. They have good and bad attributes.

If you can afford to pay a little more, I'd highly recommend the Canon Powershot G9

I want a camera for under $400 that is digital but has the quality of a professional camera. I like pictures that are really clear but i notice most digital cameras all have that digital camera look. Can anyone recommend any specific brands and models.
