Are sonys digital cameras good 2012?

compared to cannon, would u get a cannon or a sony?? . wanted to get a sony DSCHX20V

The Canon SX40 HS camera seems more responsive overall. The auto definitely works better. Pictures are crystal clear. And low light pictures are simply amazing. I even tested ISO 3200 with a nightlight and it produced a usable image with very little noise. Also, since the camera is more responsive to low light the zoom seems to work much better because low light zoom pics are very clear and have negligible noise. This camera is simply a wonderful value for the money. Buy it.

Best digital camera? So far the Nikon D800 and D4 have that honor.

But looking at your requirements, maybe the Nikon 1 series fits your requirements.

Fair price? The D800 is a very fair price at under $3000, the D4 costs a bit more at $5,800

So that means the Nikon 1 series cameras at under $1,000 seems very fair

But if you want one under $350, look at the Nikon P310 or Canon D95
