How do I unlock my memory card on my Canon digital camera?

I have a Canon Power Shot SD1000 Digital Elph. I have a memory card that I took pictures on, and somehow the memory card is locked. I let someone hold my camera, so I don't know how it got locked in the first place.

It won't let me access my photos, and I know it's the memory card not the camera because the other memory card works.

What do I do?!?!?!

If you look at the memory card it self there should be a small switch on it. Slide it back and your ready to go!

I've asked this before, and I couldn't figure out the problem... so I figure I would ask again.

I have a Canon Powershot A630 and as soon as I bought it last year, I also purchased a new memory card to go with it. Its a Dane-Elec 512MB Flash Memory Card. Well... I went to go take some pictures... and it says theres a memory card error. It won't save a damn thing and says theres a corrupted file. What could be wrong with it & what should I do? Theres a 10 year guarantee, but it would be nice it the problem could be solved without having to return it to the company.


Oh, and its not the button on the side where it locks the photos in. Thats working fine, its just when I take pictures... it says memory card error and when I put in it the computer, it says theres a corrupted file on it.
Ok, well, I tried formating it like that, and it didn't do anything. It said 'Windows was unable to complete the format' GAH i'm getting SO frusterated!

You'll have to format the memory card to clear up the corruption. The corrupted file could be caused by any number of things, like a stray cosmic ray, taking the card out of the computer while its being written to, or turning the camera off while a file is being written.

To format, put it in your computer, right-click on the drive letter for the card, and choose format. Format in the "FAT" file system in the options dialogue (not FAT32 or NTFS). That should get rid of the corrupted file.
