for my birthday i am asking for a digital camera for a summercamp in canada, but i have no idea which one to get. i know it needs to be somewhat sturdy, and we're camping on an island so water resistant would be nice. which camera do i tell my family to buy?

I need a digital camera that will be good for taking pictures outdoors. As I live in Canada it gets cold here, so a durable camera is a must... Also I don't want a really thin one as I always tend to drop those :p. I really liked the Fujifilm Finepix XP20 14.2 MP, until I read the ratings and found out it was a terrible camera. Any ideas??
