What is a good camera to use for everyday photography use?

I want to start a life photo album. Basically to capture the adventures of my life. I'm looking to capture these photos to remember where I came from and my past. I want to travel and do crazy things so I want a camera that will capture these special moments. I don't want a regular digital camera. I was thinking more of a real camera that is used for professional photography but also not so expensive? Any ideas from photographers or students?

"I don't want a regular digital camera." I take this to mean you're not looking for an ultracompact $100 camera. your magic words "travel" + "every day life" tells me "rangefinder"

The beauty of a rangefinder is it's deep field of depth, that is, you can easily "point and shoot" a wide area with excellent quality and then later crop the image to isolate the desired subject.

Professionals use all sorts of cameras, it mainly depends on the subject matter. The right camera for the right job. For every day, a lightweight palm sized camera is easy to use and travel.

But you said "not so expensive" so... I recommend a mirrorless camera. Some examples...
