digital camera and just a point and shoot one. I am looking for under $500.00, anything anyone can suggest. I have looked over reviews I am NOT happy with my Kodak and wish to stay far away from them, i heard Fuji is really good anyone know?
Answer
I own a new Canon XTi and my wife owns a Fuji S5000 (a great digital for the money). The newer Fuji S series comes with so many up-dated features they are ture value for your money, the S9000 (or maybe S9100) is their top model for around $500. Check out the demos through www.bhphotovideo.com and you can also read other reviews and compare against other makes & models.
I have been doing business with B&H for more then 25 years, never a problem, a great Professional staff on hand.
Professional's use Digital SLRs with 10+MP, most kids/youth & Parents buy small point n shoot Digital Cameras. Hobbyist, etc, will pick a DSLR.

What is a good digital camera for an 8 year old?
pookiepoo
Im looking for a digital camera for my 8 year old daughter. Nothing too expensive that can take at least 30-50 pictures and give high quality photos. One with some good reviews as well. It doesnt have to be a professional kind. Thanks.
Answer
I'd recommend one of the entry level Canons or Kodaks. You can get either one bundled with a printer so she can print at home.
The Fisher Price camera is mediocre at best, and is designed for little kids, An eight year old should be able to handle and care for a real camera, with a bit of teaching and supervision.
Memory cards (especially the SD) are pretty cheap now. You may find a package that includes a bigger memory card, but get at least a 256 or a 512mb.
Your daughter is sure to have fun!
