A friend gave me her old Canon zr200 digital camera.All the cords and the software was lost in a house fire.I live in an isolated area.Help!

You don't really need any software, just a cable, that could be a bit difficult, but if you take it to an electronics shop they can help you.

I don't want to install my camera's software into my work computer, but I want to be able to download pictures directly from my Canon digital camera. Any ideas?

Answer
You need that camera's device driver to be installed. Then you will be able to see camera as a "drive". You can copy and paste between camera drive to computer's folders.
