Michael
I am planning on getting the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi.I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this camera or if there is a better slr camera out there? I mainly want something that is easy to navigate because its my first time using a high quality camera.

Nikon D40, hands down.

It is very lightweight and easy to get used to, the images are great, too.
I definitely do not prefer cannons, especially for beginners.

How can I protect my camera on the ski slope?
John C
I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi and I am very protective of it. However, I love snowboarding and want to know what I can do or buy for my camera/lense to protect it while riding. I'm looking for something pretty sturdy that wont slow me down or prevent me from enjoying myself. I am the kind of person that is going to fall alot trying something ridiculous on expert terrain. I know that seems like alot so am I better off with just a disposable? What kind of backpack/case would be best?

If you are trying to protect it from snow and moisture:

If you are trying to protect it from impacts, ala iPod skin style, check out the camera armor...it's like a Batman suit for your camera...

For bags, you should look into the Lowepro Slingshot series, or the Tamrac Velocity series...I find those a little hard to get used to, but they might work for you. Try them out at a store before you buy. The Lowepro costs more because it is all-weather (has its own rain poncho).

A Lowpro toploader case might be more compact with a chest harnass...but you might look strange and it might get in the way of your skiing:

In general, try to visualize using these before you buy them...e.g., do you really need to pull out the camera that fast? If you have more time, you can get by with a more comfortable design or basic backpack (like the Tamrac Adventure or Lowepro Rover series, which I find to be very practical...again, the Lowepro is all-weather, so it will cost more.)
