Experience with the Canon PowerShot SD1200IS digital camera?

Alright, so I've been saving up for a digital camera which I've wanted for a while, and finally the camera that I have been interested in is on sale in Best Buy (Canada) for $248 including tax-which isn't a bad deal looking at the fact it would be nearly $270 original price.
So before I buy the camera, I'd like to know if anyone has had good/bad experiences with the camera and if it's worth getting or not.

It's a superior quality still as well as a video with sound digital camera. It's highly rated by Consumer Reports [see September 2009 issue]. When programmed (P) to "vivid" and 320X film format, you can obtain wonderful imagery especially when recording piano playing.

Is the Canon Elph Powershot a good quality camera, I've seen my friends use it and they have really nice pictures but I don't know if it's edited or not.
My main concern is the price, in Canada , how much is the Canon Elph Powershot ?

Canon Elph Powershots come in 6 different models.

They run from about $180 to $300 US, and I'm guessing about the same in Canada.
