I am looking for a digital camera that is easy to use for my grandparents. The camera should also have a good zoom and good picture quality. Please give me a list.
I also did some research and found Canon might be suitable. But I don't know which type is easier, ELPH or A-Series?
Thank you.

Answer
Even much more advanced (and heavier and more expensive) cameras than those from the Elph and PowerShot A lines, can be used without much hassle, since they all have a fully automatic mode which only requires that you... well, point and shoot ;-)

If you want some zoom and good optical quality, though, you should forget about the Elph line and go directly to the PowerShot A cameras. The A710 IS and A720 IS, for example, have a nice 6x, optically stabilized zoom, good optical quality, and decent enough sensor quality. There's also the (relatively new) A650 IS, combining the same zoom, stabilizer and optical quality, with a larger sensor that yields higher resolution and better picture quality even in low light situations that force the camera to high ISO levels, and even a swivel LCD screen.

Is it possible to put images back onto a digital camera after they've been put in the computer?

I have a Canon Power Shot A550 digital camera and I wanted to put pictures back on the memory card. The pictures are on my computer, so I wanted to know if it was possible to put them back on my memory card.

Thanks to whoever answers... and 10 points for best answer :)

Answer
yes, while the camera is connected to the computer, browse your My Computer list for something that's not usually there...digital cameras usually have strange names, like CanonA550 or something with a generic icon, usually at the bottom of the list. open that up and this is the tricky part, try and find out what directory the camera stores pictures in, you can probably find a directory that already has some pictures, just copy and paste or drag and drop your files to that location.

OR
if you happen to have one of those multi-card readers on the face of your computer, gentrly try to see if the memory card fits directly into one of the slots. if it does you can bypass the camera and just do as i explained above but the memory card will probably be more difficult to identify in My Computer.

canon digital camera card locked image

Ammy.

I have a canon digital ixus 8215.
When i try and take photos it says on the screen 'card locked',
does anyone know why this is, and how to fix it?
It wont let me take a photo ?!?!
Please help, its a new camera :)

Answer
If you are using an SD card, there is a little side piece that moves ever so slightly up and down. If you move it one way you lock the card so nothing can be removed or added to the card. Just take the card out and see if this is true on yours. If you cannot find it someone at a photoshop can help you. This happened to me and I was really perplexed. Then I found out and no big deal now.

How can I unlock my SD card on my canon digital camera?

Level Head

I downloaded pictures to my laptop last night, and when I went to take a picture today, the screen said "card locked". I can't figure out how to unlock it! Help please:)

Answer
look for a switch on the card, if its pointing to lock then well move the switch

otherwise try to format the card in the camera

go hard
