I went to the beach , the camara was little wet, thememori an the baterri was dry.

the good news, going to the beach is a fun place to go!, but salt water and sand is the worst Emmy for electronic and mechanical parts! any time you take your camera's to the beach, you have to protect them! get a good camera bag!!! the other problem is if you have any kind of warranty for the camera, I,am sorry to say it's now void! so any repairs that you will now will cost you money! once a tech takes it apart he will see sand and may be water! and at that point, they will put it back together and sed it back to you! they will look at it and tell you that the camera is dead and not worth fixing. sorry to give you the bad news!!

Canon digital camera IX US 950IS displays "lens error".?

I have a Canon digital camera IS. While cleaning the camera I pressed the on/off button & get a message "lens error , restart camera". The lens doesn't close now. Have I messed up with my camera? Any help?

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct your problem. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them:
