where could i buy the Canon nb-5l battery ?

Thirdshopp

my Canon camera don't work, the battery is broken, could you help me ?

Answer
I only buy OEM batteries (in this case, Canon). I would purchase it from either my local camera shop OR B&H Photo.... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/425695-REG/Canon_1135B001_NB_5L_Lithium_Ion_Battery_3_7v.html

If you insist on buying a third party brand, then I would suggest that you buy the matching charger to go with it. A cheaper battery may not have the proper charging circuitry for the Canon charger to be able to determine the battery's condition.

IF I were to get a third party brand, the only one I would use is Pearstone (along with the Pearstone charger)....in other words, along with a $19.95 Pearstone NB-5L battery, I would get the $79.95 Pearstone NB-5L charger instead of spending $42.40 for the Canon battery.

Canon Camera?

ok...so I have a Canon Power shot A470
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff126/rainbow6875/canon-powershot-a470-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
[looks like that]

and i used these generic kind of batteries called North Tech â¢

I think i got them at "Big Lots" and every time I put a new set of these batteries in the screen says change batteries. WHATS UP WITH THAT?
Anyways if you have this camera please tell me what kind of batteries you use....o and what memory card you have. Cuz mine is an sd 32..

Answer
Memory cards used to day are at least 1GB ... usually more like 2GB for SD cards and 4GB if the camera takes SD/SDHC cards. Yours uses the higher capacity cards.

Batteries: Your camera is optimized for AA NiMH rechargeable batteries, not standard AA's

Buy some of those with a charger and try again ... you should get over 250 shots per charge as long as you keep the LCD turned off and turn off the camera after each shooting session

Canon digital camera- Battery?

daeijan

do we have to care about the "mAh" of the battries that we use for a digital camera like Canon S3 IS?
I just want to know that is "3800 mAh" good for the digital camera or not?

Answer
Frankly, I would be highly suspicious of a NiMH 3800mAh rechargeable battery.
I did a search for them and all I could find were Sony 3800mAh...from India, so I would doubt their authenticity.
As far as I know, Sony only make up to 2700mAh rechargeable batteries.
If you stick with 2500-2700mAh batteries you will be fine. (this allows up to 550 shots).

Just don't buy them from Ebay, India.

Where can i buy camera batteries?

Bre

My canon rebel xt doesn't work and i was suggested to buy another battery. It says 8.1v on it, but i was told it's 1.5v? I'm talking about the little battery. Where can I buy these from?

Answer
You want the Canon NB-2LH rechargable battery. Do NOT buy third party batteries, if you do you are putting your camera at a great risk of being fried. Even if you got a third party battery that worked it's life would be absolutely nothing in comparison to the Canon battery.

You can buy the Canon battery at any camera store or online from places like Amazon, Adorama, B&H etc.

Are you sure the battery is what's wrong with the camera? Have you tried recharging the battery? I'd recommend taking it to your nearest reputable camera shop and getting one of their technicians to check it out or bring it to your nearest Canon Pro Centre. The camera itself could be dead, you'd have to call Canon to inquire about a fix then.

canon camera?

rockkkkin

friends, I ve zeroed in on the following cameras:
Powershot A650 IS
Powershot S5 IS
Powershot SD 890 IS
Request you experts to tell me which one is the best. I would also like to know how many shots I can take with the ones with AA batteries and the ones with Nimh batteries.

Answer
Here's the side-by-side comparison of the three feature by feature:

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=canon_a650is%2Ccanon_sd890is%2Ccanon_s5is&show=all

However, keep in mind that you are comparing the cameras from three different Canon Series.

A650IS - that's "A" series, this is the most basic and affordable Canon offering for starters. Just about your basic down to the ground cheap camera...

SD890IS - that's "SD" series, aka ELPH. They are also the basic cameras, but snapped into a more compact body. They are for those who are willing to trade a little quality for a smaller size, so that they fit into the purse or shirt pocket.

S5IS - The "S" series. Largest of all, originally "S" series was marketed as a more or less prosumer camera, meaning point and shoot with advanced features. Later that hype went to Digital Rebels, that became more affordable, but there's still a load of manual features and such on "S" cameras, but their main marketing point right now is the ultra zoom range. In fact it has the smallest sensor of the three, but because it's a bit fewer megapixels in fact pixel density on sensor is better than SD890IS, so it's a good thing.

So it's basically for you to decide what you want:
Cheap and basic - go for "A"
Slim and compact - go for "SD"
Large, a bit more advanced and super zoom - "S" is your pick!

Good luck with your choice!
LEM.

P.S. I'd guesstimate the best performance per charge will be for the one with built in battery, you will want to buy NiMH rechargable and charger for the other two. On the bright side, they are cheaper than dedicated battery for spares, and if you do run out, there are always AA's available in nearby drug store.

canon camera that uses AA Batteries?

Timberly7

i need to buy a good canon camera under $250 and uses AA batteries

Answer
What gives a camera its picture quality?

The short answer is that it is mostly the skill of the photographer that produces high quality pictures. The lens and camera are very important, but the ability to set up the scene, adjust the cameras settings, and hold the camera very still or use a tripod with auto or remote shutter actuation when required is what gets the great pictures.

Many of the new cameras come with only an LCD screen. Would suggest that you find one that also has an optical view finder because the LCD screen is almost impossible to see in bright sun.

Higher mega pixels may not really be the best thing to look for. It is more expensive, takes longer to process, and may not be needed unless you are making a really large picture or blowing up a small part of a picture. http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=398&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=2039 ...

Check this camera. FUJIFILM - FinePix 10.0-Megapixel Digital. This is more camera for the money.
Wide-angle shooting, a 12x optical zoom and picture stabilization mode combine in this camera for exceptional shooting performance, even at a distance. Plentiful scene modes, autofocus and automatic white balance controls make this camera a snap to operate. Life time Warranty (Parts & Labor). You may be able to find it on the Internet for a lower price ($144), but be careful of the vendor.

The information about my camera is just to show that you don't need the biggest and best. Just know how to use the one you have.

My camera has 5.2 mega pixel, but I use 3 most of the time because it gives great results, is faster, and takes less memory. Also, it only has a 3 x optical zoom and 7x digital zoom. I never use the digital zoom because making pictures larger works better on the computer. This is an old camera, but everyone is impressed with the quality pictures it takes ... like magic.

Check with the Geeks in several stores and compare prices. Ask what cameras they own. Once you select a camera read all about it in the owner's manual.

The source links will show most of the cameras out there with prices and help make your digital cameras work better.

I just recently bought a Canon Powershot A570IS and I have a Kodak Easyshare as well but I have rechargable Kodak batteries....Would those type of batties work for my new camera or do I have to get new rechargable batteries??

Also I have not received my camera yet so I can't check to see if they work....

Answer
If they are AA NiMH, yes you can. If they are Li-ion's, no. All those are proprietary batteries usually specific to the model as well as the brand camera.

How long should my new video camera batter last?

monicanena

Just bought a Canon Vixia and the battery lasted less than an hour. Is this normal? Doesn't seem right.
Oops, I mean "battery" of course.

Answer
the factory usually sizes a battery to last from 1 to 2 hours of continuous video. less than an hour sounds like there is a problem with the battery or the charger, or else there was a lot of standby time between takes that you are not counting.

Looking to buy a charger for LP-E5 batteries for my digital SLR Canon camera, should I go with the $40 Canon charger or a much cheaper $15 off-brand that also includes two extra batteries and a car adapter? Anyone got any experience with off-brand chargers?

Answer
I prefer to use OEM batteries and the OEM charger for them. The charger can read the battery and charge it accurately so that it does not overheat/overcharge to prevent swelling (and possibly becoming a fire hazard). The other nice thing about using OEM batteries is that if it damages your camera, repairs are handled by the manufacturer.

Some people don't have a problem with the third party batteries, a fellow photog wasn't so lucky. He had a battery leak in his camera (as a result of over charging), and spent several hundred to get the camera cleaned and repaired. The battery company only offered to send him a replacement battery.

what is the difference between US and Australian version of canon 400D camera?

Mark

I was thinking about buying Canon 400D(Rebel XTi) from US.can anybody please tell me the difference between these two different versions of cameras?do they use same battery?do i have to but new charger/battery in Australia?

Answer
To combat the "gray market" Canon names their cameras for sale in different geographic areas.

Canon EOS 400D - Europe, Asia, Elsewhere

Canon Digital Rebel XTi - North America

Canon EOS KISS Digital X - Japan

Each geographic area has an Authorized Licensed Importer and the price they pay for the cameras and lenses helps support Authorized Service Centers. Unfortunately, there is no law that prevents an importer from buying a Canon camera or lens in a country with a favorable exchange rate and re-selling it at a lower price in the country where they are based. In other words, if the camera you want is cheaper in the USA than in Australia, an Australian importer might buy cameras in the USA, import them to Australia, and sell them cheaper than the Authorized Licensed Importer.

Sounds like a good deal for the consumer, doesn't it? Well it isn't because there will be no warranty coverage for the camera. The Canon Authorized Service centers will not work on this "gray market" camera even if you offer to pay. Need service? Send it back to the USA.

Its your decision to make.

I have a Canon EOS 5D camera and our battery charger was stolen. The battery is a Canon E160814 - Battery Pack BP-511A 7.4V.

What kind of charger do I need to buy?

Answer
If you know the model of battery, you can go to a reputable site like amazon.com, adorama.com, or bhphoto.com and do a search. Chances are generally good of finding a compatible charger.

Can an 1800 mah battery be used in conjunction with a 2000 mah?

SoloAlpini

My Canon 5D Mark II camera battery pack takes 2 batteries. My original battery is rated at 1800 mah. The generic battery I bought to work in conjunction is rated at 2000 mah. Will there be any problems due to the 200 mah difference? I know NOTHING about electricity! Thanks

Answer
The Canon 5D Mark II uses each battery independently and switches between them.
So that said, there shouldn't be an issue.

The real question is do you want to risk your $2000+ SLR on a non-Canon battery?
I would expect that if the battery leaks-catches fire-overheats that Canon would void your warranty.

Also, a single battery on the 5D Mk II allows you to shoot hundreds of frames (video not withstanding)
so do you really need more capacity?
