What should I look for in a camera? (megapixels, zoom, flash....so on)
I want a good quality picture; clear, nice colors... etc.
I want a camera the snaps fast and has good options.
Basically like those professional cameras, but cheaper and smaller.

Any suggestions? (Needs to have a rechargable battery, I don't like the ones that you need to buy batteries for)

Canon has always been a great company for me. Check out the "elph" series, they're pretty nice. Just make sure not to get fooled by the "digital zoom" nonsense. Optical zoom is what matters, digital is simply enlarging the pixels; you can do it on your computer when you upload them.

For the price, it is a good little camera, but it is lacking either a view finder or IS. You need at least one of those features to assure sharp images shooting in low light situations without flash.

For about $30 more you can get a great camera that has both.

I have a Canon Powershot 100 HS Digital ELPH Camera. I also have a webcam but it doesn't have good quality. I want to use a program that is available to p.c. to capture pictures from the camera via usb. Like if you were using a webcam to take pictures and recording them on a p.c. with software that transfers it strait to the p.c. and that takes the picture when you click something on the computer. That way the camera doesn't move when you are pressing the shutter button.

your best bet is to just use the camera without having it hooked up to the cpu and transfer all the photos afterwards. as for how to shoot the photos, it depends on what you're shooting. if it's a person, just have them move 6-12" between shots (e.g. if they just took a step, have them move the leg behind them around 6-12" but still in the same motion as if they were just walking the way they normally do).

I own a Canon PowerShot SD870 IS Digital ELPH Camera. How should I play around with the settings (ISO, etc.) to make it take incredible, crisp photos with low noise in low-light settings, much like a digital SLR (Nikon D3100 for example)?
What I'm asking is: How do i make my compact digital camera take high quality pictures in low-light settings much like an SLR? Serious responses ONLY, please...

well, take a photography class......shutter speed, aperture, ISO takes too long to explain here......

crisp pics with low noise: ISO100

and if you want high quality pics in low light, heres a recommendations: go to A/Av mode and set the f/stop to the widest possible(f/2.8 or 3.5) and use ISO 400 or 800......you can also use a tripod.....

I have a Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph camera and the little battery cover part just came off! I need help reattaching it, any help?! It looks like it should just snap back in there but I can't get it!

If you can't find the plug it's possible that you've lost the original cable for the camera (the end that plugs into the camera is proprietary, and would be pretty easy to discern from the other outlets on the camera. Your best bet is to purchase a card reader, they're cheap, easy to use and save your camera's batteries, and other components.
