I really want to buy it because i'm taking a photography class and desperately need a high resolution compact digital camera and the a3300 is perfect. Will it come out in the next two weeks?

Amazon is taking preorders so it should not be too long. Call canon and ask. Oh, and check with your instructor that it's an acceptable camera for the course.

Is the Nikon Coolpix S3100 or the Canon Powershot A3300 better?

I am getting a new digital camera, but i don't know which one is better. The Nikon Coolpix S3100 is cheeper and has the same features as the Canon, but has 2 less megapixals.

Don't worry about megpixels - More megapixels does not = better image quality. If you add a few bucks to your budget, you could get a Coolpix P7000 that allows for full manual control over shutter speed, aperture and ISO

Canon PowerShot A3000IS is a good camera for snapshots.

Surprisingly the camera is really good considering the price. It's a small compact camera and very convenient.

What is the best camera to take pictures on a night out?

I need a new cam which will mostly be used for taking pictures on nights out. Every camera I've had so far has produced blurry, poor photos so I really want to get it right this time! I also need it for taking pics of family etc but my main thing is nights out (people moving around, low lighting etc) Don't have a lot of money to spend so good value also! Help?!?

All inexpensive cameras are pretty bad in low light. But there is one feature that really helps: image stabilization. That means the lens moves to correct camera shake. Make sure your camera has optical IS (NOT digital IS, which is junk) and use the flash, and you should get decent results.

The Canon A3300 IS is a good value. It has optical IS and HD video, and Adorama has it for $99.
