if u will buy a digital camera wud it be sony or canon?

MANAR

im going to buy a camera and i want to know which is better
sony DSC T 700
canon SD 110
their prices are almost the same but i wonder which one is more efficient?

Answer
They are both great cameras. In terms of image quality, it is most likely that the Canon will have a slight edge; but with digital compact cameras, the differences are very small.

The Sony has 4GB built-in memory and some additional photo gallery features that would be useful if you like showing off your photos from the camera itself. Personally, this feature would do nothing for me, as I prefer to view the images on a larger screen and not actually on the camera itself.

The Canon will use SD memory (which is a standard and can be found very cheap) and the Sony uses MemoryStick (which is patented by Sony and while there are other brands of memory sticks available, in general memory stick costs more than SD).

Also, my laptop has an SD reader, so I don't have to plug my camera and turn it on to download images. I can just take the SD card out and put it in my computer... saving camera battery and the need to carry around a USB cable.

Should i buy Olympus Ultra Zoom Digital Cameras, rather than Canon ones?

Amir

Guys who bought Olympus Ultra Zoom Digital Cameras.
Are You Satisfied?

Answer
I dont know if this will help you. I have the same situation as yours few weeks ago regarding which brand of camera to buy (DSLR category). I made a lot of research reading different camera's features and reading/watching videos of commentaries/reviews by camera experts and amateurs alike at youtube.com (just type in camera's brand and model and click search). Way back then, I was weighing between models made by Canon, Nikon and Olympus. I ended up buying a Canon DSLR camera, the EOS 40D kit and I have no regret buying it whatsoever. I think you are doing the right thing asking for recommendations before actually buying a camera. I did the same thing. If I did not buy the Canon brand, I would settle on buying a comparable model from Nikon, and lastly, Olympus. I am just new to DSLR photography and definitely not an expert, so I am just giving you my humble and honest opinion which you could probably apply to your situation. Hope this helps.

How to set up and use a Canon 650D digital camera?

Geb

How can I set up a new Canon 650D digital camera and what are suitable hardware and software that I could buy to use with the camera to view, edit and print my photographs.
Also explain how to set it up and maintain it.

Answer
Explain how to set up and maintain the Canon DSLR. Tells me that you bought a DSLR because everybody on this site told you too. Now you are faced with how to operate the darn thing. Simply put you bought more camera than you should have. Well the only thing is to make the best of it.

LETS ADDRESS YOUR QUESTIONS FIRST:
1.You should not get into editing beyond the simple cropping that processors offer for now, you have enough on your plate. I always use a store in my community for most of my pictures.. I do not go into their store except to "pick-up" my order. I use their web site to crop, & order my prints. I don't like putting my memory card into machines that have been abused by every "Tom, Dick & Harry!"
COMPUTER UPLOADING: buy & use a memory card reader ($6.00) instead of the camera to computer cord that drives people nuts.
2. Hardware; there is no hardware to buy now or ever. If you are referring to lenses, you do not have the experience now to go out and spend money on lenses that YOU really don't have a need for yet.
SOFTWARE: you should have connected your camera to your computer for any up dates to your camera, when you first got your camera. Make this a once a year project. When I connected my camera, the web site updated the cameras software so I could use the (then) new SDHC memory cards.
3. Set the camera up and maintain it. Starting backwards unless you use some other size battery you should get yourself about 3 sets of double "A" rechargeable batteries. The best brand are Eneloop. Buy together with a battery charger is the most economical way. If you have a different size battery buy two extras batteries, or at least one. Keep batteries charged , what ever size you use.
4. NECK STRAP- Yahoo does not like it when I use capitals all the time BUT this is perhaps the most important thing you can do. Always wear the neck strap. You drop this camera, be warned-dropping is NOT covered under warranty! The camera belongs in two places only, around your neck or in the gadget bag! Not carry by it's strap in your hands (like that blasted Nikon commercial implies!)
5.Auto setting, most people who own DLSR's recommend against using the "Auto" setting. But I recommend YOU use it until you become familiar with your camera.

I also recommend you invest in some easy to read books by Scot Kelby. He writes in a very easy to read style. I have a few because at first digital was foreign to me coming from a film environment.
The really nice thing about his books beyond the understanding factor is his web site. He often refers you to his web site to make visual presentations easier to understand! This is a real plus for me.
And while we are on the subject of reading you should check amazon for a good book on your model camera. Instruction books are often hard to read because it seems they do not employ "tech" writers anymore and you are left with what is left.

That is enough on your plate!

Good Luck

P.S. I just read "Jim A's" advise on the manual. He is correct but I take it one step further. I download and PRINT the manual, leaving out simple things I already know like putting batteries in the camera etc. I take the remaining pages to a large place like Staples and have them cut and spiral bind the rest. I carry this home made manual with me should I encounter a situation I am not familiar with.
All this editing and preparing also enhances my knowledge of the camera and I find I have less & less to refer to. And while I am on my soapbox, get your backside out there and shoot and shoot. Experience is the best teacher!

I have recently bought Canon A430 Digital camera. I want to know how I can use it for auto shoot for set time.

Suppose other cameras have 5 sec, 10 sec delay then we can shoot our picture by just keeping the camera ready.

Thanks for your answers!

Answer
Your camera has a 2 or 10 sec self-timer.

It has no interval timer ... those are found usually on the high-end DSLR cameras.

I bought a Canon digital camera 4 years ago and it broke down 1 month ago. to repair it will cost me $200. is it normal?

Answer
Canon is a good company, but nothing lasts forever, you have to realize it. If you cherish your camera you can repair it but better get another one, I would advise another Canon as you already have the software and the gadget for it.

i have bought cannos sd 630 . But i know there is latest model of canon digital camera in the market . So i want to know what can i do with my cannos sd 630 and what can't i do ?

Answer
The Canon SD 630 is a very good compact camera.
I don't think you should worry about the other models for now. I would wait till next year to see what is coming out.
They are...
SD800 IS, 7.1 MP, 3.7x optical
SD900, 10MP, 3x optical
A630, 8MP, 4x optical but larger in size
The two SD models just have more megapixels and the newer processor.
And the SD630 has the same excellent movie mode...and has a large 3.0" LCD.
Just make sure you use a fast SD card.

Changing the megapixels of my digital camera?

canon digital camera at best buy on best sellers the new york times best sellers children s books ...
canon digital camera at best buy image

I bought a 7.1 megapixel Canon digital camera. How do I reduce the megapixels in order to be able to store more pictures? If I do this, will I ever be able to change it back?
I know you can change it because my aunt changed hers, but it was a different kind of camera so we couldn't figure out how to do mine. I've been reading through the guide and going through the menu, but I cannot figure out how to make it less than 7.1 so that I can store more pictures.

Answer
It is certainly possible to change the number of pixels on your camera, but without knowing which model, I can't tell you how exactly. Just look around in the menu on the camera, or in the guide that came with it, and YES, you will definitely be able to change it back.
Also, the ISO setting mentioned by someone else has nothing to do with the number of pixels, but how long the shutter stays open.

what is the best digital camera out there?

Tina

I am planning to buy a camera this boxing day but wondering what is the different between t2 and t3 canon digital cameras. Pls give me an advice!

Answer
So your price range is 1,000 bucks or so? There is no T2, but there is a T2i. And Canon makes a T3 and T3i. The T2i is older, but apparently has slightly better image quality than the T3i (but it's not a noticeable difference). If you want the flippy-screen screen, get the T3i. Also consider the Nikon D3100 and D5100
