I'm looking for a better digital camera that has a lot of zoom and this camera seemed like it did. it has great reviews. but i want your opinion. is it a good camera? I was looking at the Nikon Coolpix L110 but I think i have decided against it.

Canon digital cameras with HD video capability?

I want a new digital camera, I love Canon, they have such good quality (in my opinion) but not only do I want pictures, I want HD videos too.. so please help me out with a good camera?

There are plenty of point-and-shoots that do that very well. Do a search on Amazon.com.

I have also always liked Canons but lately I've gone Panasonic. My latest is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 .

I actually had 4 Travel Zoom cameras in my hands: The Nikon S8100, Canon SD4500, Canon SX210 and the Lumix DMC-ZS7.

I returned 3 and kept the Lumix. I absolutely recommend it. The stabilization and focusing are far better than in the others. In addition, it has GPS to auto-tag the location of photos.

Can you capture a still from streaming video with a good digital camera?

I have to take some self-portraits for promoting my singing career, but my Canon Rebel is going to be too slow to see the results. So I'm buying a digital camera. I plan to get HD, and enough megapixels, but I'm wondering if I can cut stills out of streaming video, or do you need a good camcorder for that. If so, how good a one would I need?

It's not the equipment, but the technique. The Rebel is very capable of capturing great still images.

HD is much lower resolution and while you can grab frames, they won't be anywhere near as good.

I suggest that instead of buying an expensive HD camcorder, you get a good photographer (even an art student good with photography and lighting) to take your photos. It's just not a good idea to take your own photo. If you are committed to taking your own photo, try using a digital SLR with live view and hook the camera up to a monitor, so you can pose adequately, then use a remote release for the camera.

Best cheapest Canon Digital SLR Camera that can perform HD video?

I prefer Canon Digital SLR Camera's compared to typical, cheaper handheld consumer camera's because I prefer a professional approach to my work. If you can suggest any other camera with these abilities, that's great. I'm looking for a digital camera (more preferably Canon Digital SLR) that can take amazing pictures as well as camcorder(HD) abilities. Also at a reasonable price, and I'm talking about below the 600-700 dollar mark(or in between).
