Digital Cameras and YouTube?

Q. I'm in the market for a new digital camera. The main thing I'm looking for is a small/compact camera that records good quality video and sound (good enough to post to YouTube).

Looking to spend up to $350. Thanks.

Answer
Most digital cameras are capable of recording good quality movies that are certainly good enough for YouTube.
Canon cameras deliver some of the best quality available.
I would recommend the new A630, 8MP (under $300).
or the A640, 10MP (over $300).
You will also need to buy a fast SD memory card (I would highly recommend Sandisk Extreme III).

YouTube limits movies to 100MB and you should make sure your video is 320x240 resolution.

From Youtube...
"we recommend that you save your videos as either QuickTime .MOV, Windows .AVI, or .MPG filesâ these are the most common formats and they work well within our system. We specifically recommend the MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format at 320x240 resolution with MP3 audio. Resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will help your clips look better on YouTube".

What cheap digital camera is good for making videos?

hi um i want to make youtube videos with a digital camera. whats the best kind that comes with a USB, a memory card, and can make videos. whats the cheapest kind?

Answer
These are the best consumer rated cameras that fit your needs:

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 Digital Camera--$366.00

The Panasonic DMC-ZS3 has a very good HD movie mode (1280 x 720) and allows you to use the optical zoom and optical image stabilization while recording. It also records in stereo sound and includes an HDMI output for viewing recordings on an HDTV. Aside from its excellent movie recording capabilities, this is a terrific all-around camera that does nearly everything well. Itâs extremely versatile because of its 12x optical zoom lens, which offers a range of 25-300mm, yet is small enough to fit into a pocket.
The DMC-ZS3 offers excellent image quality, fast performance, and a very impressive high-resolution 3.0â LCD display. It also features optical image stabilization, which is very effective for reducing blur and improving low-light shots. This camera is remarkably easy to use and produces great results when set to Intelligent Auto mode; the Face Detection technology also works very well. More experienced users will be frustrated by the lack of manual controls, but the DMC-ZS3 is still a camera that photo enthusiasts will love to use when they donât want to carry an SLR. If youâre seeking a compact ultra-zoom camera with an excellent movie mode, this one should be at the top of the list. You can find this cameras at Amazon here http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-ZS3-Digital-Stabilized-Black/dp/B001QFZMCO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1249692371&sr=1-1

Canon PowerShot SD960--$260.00

This ultra-compact digital cameras lets you record high definition 720p (1280 x 720) video at 30 frames per second (fps) in the MOV (H.264) file format. HD video quality is very good, especially in good light. The SD960 IS includes a mini-HDMI connector so you can send the audio and video directly to your HDTV with a single cable. But if you want to play movies back directly on the camera, youâll appreciate the widescreen 2.8â LCD. Pair it with an 8GB or 16GB SDHC card to allow plenty of storage for recordings. The Canon 960 IS also performs well for still images. It features a 4x optical zoom lens with image stabilization and delivers good overall image quality for a pocket camera. If youâre looking for something a little cheaper, the Canon 780 IS also offers an impressive HD shooting movie mode and HDMI output. You can find this camera at Amazon here http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-SD960IS-Stabilized-Silver/dp/B001SER46K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1249692459&sr=1-1

Canon PowerShot SD780 IS--$227.00

This camera is less expensive than the SD 960 IS but still features the same HD movie mode for recording HD 720p video at 30 fps. Itâs also equipped with a mini-HDMI connector for watching movies on an HDTV. Compared to the 960 IS, the 780 IS has a 3x optical zoom lens vs. 4x, 2.5â LCD vs. 2.8â widescreen LCD, and 3.2 maximum aperture vs. 2.8. The key advantages of the 960 IS compared to the 780 IS are 4x vs. 3x optical zoom lens. Image quality is not spectacular, but thatâs to be expected from a camera this small. You can find this camera at Amazon here http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-SD780IS12-1-Stabilized-Black/dp/B001SER47Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1249692517&sr=1-1

Canon PowerShot SX200 IS--$322.00

The Powershot SX200 IS is an excellent ultrazoom camera that can record high quality HD 1280 x 720 (720p) video at 30 frames per second (fps) using the H.264 codec. It is compact for an ultrazoom camera and delivers very good image quality. It also supports HDMI output so you can connect it to an HDTV via a single cable and playback recorded HD video. This camera is also equipped with an impressive 12x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilization. However, while the optical image stabilization works during the movie mode to effectively reduce âshakeâ, optical zoom cannot be used while recording. Additionally, this camera is very easy to use in automatic mode, but also offers full manual controls for advanced photographers. You can find this camera at Amazon here http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-SX200IS-Stabilized-Black/dp/B001SER45Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1249692578&sr=1-

Would a webcam or digital camera be better for videos on Youtube?

canon digital camera youtube on Canon EOS 70D Digital SLR Camera Landing Page | Canon Online Store

radioactiv

I would like some suggestions for digital cameras or webcams that produce excellent quality videos but are somewhat low in cost. I used to have a 5.0 MP Canon Powershot that took vids under 3 minutes but I'm looking for something else. So which would be better, a webcam or a digital camera? Then...are there any suggestions as to a certain camera (i.e Kodak (something) or Canon (something), or Minolta, etc)

Answer
I would get a regular video camera - look at the Canon line - they are my fav. A webcam isn't going to give you the best quality. Depends on what kind of videos your taking also though....but you can probably find a cheaper canon video camera....check ebay for used ones if you don't want to spend $ on a new one. :)

IF you have to choose between the two, I think I would go w/ the camera though....best to take video of both and compare. :)

What digital camera would you reccomend that takes good pictures and good quality videos?

Q. Hi, I am looking for a digital camera that is under $200 and I'd like for it to be something that makes good quality videos with good sound for Youtube. And I want to take pictures on it too and I want one with clear nice pictures too. I also want it to have a long battery life. Any reccomendations? What else should I look for about the digital camera? Thank you for your help!

Answer
Hi! I highly recommend the canon powershot sd 1100 is. I recently got it for my birthday and absoulity love it. If you order on amazon.com, they sell it for $160. This camera takes high quality pictures that are super clear. It also takes good quality videos. You can take pictures and film in different modes, like color accent, which focuses on one color and everything is black and white, sepia, and just black and white. The battery life is long, because I used it nonstop for 2 days and the battery was still there(rechargeable). The. Camera comes in blue, pink, brown, silver, and gold. I have the blue one. Hope you get the canon powershot as 1100is. It's an amazing camera!

I want to be able to record for short films, such as videos for YouTube, and be able to take clear photos. I was considering the Canon EOS Rebel T3 Digital camera. It has to be able to withstand a little wear and tear or such. Any recommendations and why?

Answer
Digital Cameras are the ideal way to take advantage of all the features of digital photography, but you can also use a conventional film camera and convert your negatives to the digital domain. For instance, many photo processing outlet's offer the facility of transferring film negatives to CD. If you are not sure about taking the plunge into digital photography, converting film negatives is one way to discover the wonders of digital photography without having to invest in a new digital camera.

Digital photography is becoming more affordable all of the time, and the technology to make fabulous photos is well within the budget of most consumers. Add to this the money that you can save in development costs, you have an inexpensive practical solution to all of your photography requirements.
Sony Cyber Shot, Fuji Film Fine pix, Panasonic Lumix, Olympus & Samsung digital cameras is the best for in cheap rate you can visist http://goo.gl/SVpDl for best cameras, However, Digital Cameras offer so much more than conventional film cameras. Most models have a viewing screen which functions as a view finder as well as a picture viewer. This gives you the ability to view pictures that you have taken just moments before. If you then find that the picture is not to your liking you can just delete it and take another. If part of the photograph is good, crop it and save it back to the camera memory. Many Digital Cameras also have a facility whereby you can capture short bursts of video complete with audio soundtrack
When ever you purchase please check all this point like

Batteries for your digital camera
Digital camera viewfinder

Many Digital Cameras also have a facility whereby you can capture short bursts of video complete with audio soundtrack
When ever you purchase please check all this point like
Digital camera resolution
Optical zoom on digital cameras
Digital camera shutter delay
Batteries for your digital camera
Digital camera viewfinder
Digital camera size and weight
Manual focusing on digital cameras
Digital cameras with face detection
Digital camera ISO
Video and sound recording on digital cameras
Image stabilization (OIS)
Image quality on digital cameras
If you satisfy then only purchase
I hope my answer will solve your purpose.

Is there a significant learning different between the Canon Digital Rebel XT and the Canon 40D?

Ms.Matashi

I plan on renting a Canon 40D sometime at the end of this month. Currently I use a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I was wondering is there a big learning difference between the two camera? What is on the 40D that I have to learn that is not on the digital rebel? I plan on shooting in manual and in raw.

Answer
No, I don't think you will have too much trouble finding your way around the 40D. If you know how to use the XT...then the 40D is just a step or two up (updated features, and menu etc).

Check out the 40D video tour in the first link below.
The second link has a number of informative 40D review/tutorial videos from YouTube.
The third link allows you to download (and save) the 40D's Instruction Manual. I suggest you download it...and read it so you get a head start on it's various features and functions...

I have a Canon digital video camera. Model NTSC 2r85 I taped something onto the tape instead of the memory card. How do I convert this to go the card or through my USB port to my computer?

Answer
Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac is a real helpful and self-explanatory assistant for converting almost all popular videos like TV shows (*.tivo, *dvr-ms, *.trp, *.tp, *.ts, etc), HD, AVCHD videos (*.mod, *.tod, *.m2ts, *.evo, *.vro, *.m2t, *.mts, *.tp, etc) from DVs or camcorders (JVC, Panasonic, Cannon, Sony, etc), DVDs (*.vob), QuickTime videos (*.mov), YouTube videos (*.flv, *.f4v), and common videos (*.avi, *.mxf, *.vp6, *.wmv, *.mkv, *.dts-hd, *.truehd, *.dts, *.ac3, etc.) to MOV, MKV, WMV, MP4, H.264/AVC, MPG, MPEG, AVI, MP3, AAC, AC3, M4R, etc with pristine quality and without A/V out of sync.

With this Mac Video Converter, you can enjoy tons of videos on your iPad, iPod, iPhone, Android phones, PS3, PSP, Xbox, Zune, Creative Zen, cell phones and so on, or edit them in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, FCE, Avid, iMovie, etc, or insert to PPT for presentation; or even upload to YouTube, websites for sharing.

Whats the best digital camera for uploading videos to youtube?

Kellydoodl

Okay, so im trying to upload a video to youtube and my digital camera stinks, its a cheap version that hasn't gotten good reviews but it was free. So in your opinions, what is the best digital camera that has both quality and ease of upload, the ease of upload being chief in point.

Answer
Are you asking about camcorders or cameras?

I use a Canon Elura 100 camcorder and a Canon SD750 still camera. Both have excellent video, but the camcorder has better sound and video features.

In either case, I process all my videos using Pinnacle Studio Plus or Windows Movie Maker before uploading. That way I can tweak it any way I want.

Don't buy a camera based on a 'Direct Upload to YouTube' capability... that's just a come-on from the maker to hide the fact that the camera doesn't have any useful features. Uploading to YouTube is easy!

What is the cheapest external microphone?

Alex Hajna

I record YouTube videos from a cheap(ish) Canon, 10 megapixel digital camera, and the humming sound that occurs while recording in a large room is overwhelming. I'm looking to buy a good external mic for a cheap price that will somewhat eliminate the humming.

Answer
Buying something that's good for a cheap price. That's a great idea. It's not reality, but it's a great idea. A good mic costs good money, a cheap mic is cheap. If I could get a new Mercedes for $10,000 I'd be happy. But neither that, nor your good mic for a cheap price, is going to happen.
