I am debating between the Canon SD870is and the Sony DSC-
T100??? For image quality, which one is better?
Answer
No such thing as "better," however, both cameras were release at the same time this year. Both have 8 megapixel CCD sensors. The Canon SD870 IS is lighter and has a faster lens Æ2.8 versus Æ3.5 for the Sony. Maximum shutter speed for the Canon is 1/1600 while the Sony is 1/1000. Closer focusing distance with the Canon in both macro and normal modes. Sony has a longer telephoto lens 175mm versus 105mm for the Canon. However, Canon sports a wider angle lens 28mm versus 35mm for the Sony. The Canon SD870 IS has a street price of $382 US versus $362 US for the Sony. If it were my decision -- go for the Canon -- but it really is a close toss up.

I'm looking for a new camera and I've always been a big fan of Sony products, my mom has a Canon Powershot and I had a Sony Cyber-shot T70 I think, both camera are nice. But I want your opinion.
Answer
I always go for the Sony Cyber-Shot series for point and shoot cameras. For the point-and- shoot category, they are the top-of-the line. I got much better results with Sony than the Canon Powershot.
EDIT:++++++++
Perki has a point. The original reason why I bought my Sony was because it felt the best in my hands compared to any of the others.
Also, that is how I decided on my DSLR...
